The ability to interpret and make sense of what we see. It involves recognizing shapes, colours, patterns, and objects, as well as understanding how they relate to each other in space. Visual perception also helps children process information like distance, depth and movement, which is essential for activities like reading, writing and playing sports.
Strong visual perception skills are important for everyday tasks, including schoolwork and daily routines. When there are challenges with visual perception, it can affect a child’s ability to complete tasks accurately and independently.
